Subtract x^{2} from both sides.
\frac{-a}{-1}=\frac{b-x^{2}}{-1}
Divide both sides by -1.
a=\frac{b-x^{2}}{-1}
Dividing by -1 undoes the multiplication by -1.
a=x^{2}-b
Divide b-x^{2} by -1.
b=x^{2}-a
Swap sides so that all variable terms are on the left hand side.
