\left(1+z\right)y=x
Combine all terms containing y.
\left(z+1\right)y=x
The equation is in standard form.
\frac{\left(z+1\right)y}{z+1}=\frac{x}{z+1}
Divide both sides by 1+z.
y=\frac{x}{z+1}
Dividing by 1+z undoes the multiplication by 1+z.
