x^{2}-1+x=x^{2}
Consider \left(x+1\right)\left(x-1\right). Multiplication can be transformed into difference of squares using the rule: \left(a-b\right)\left(a+b\right)=a^{2}-b^{2}. Square 1.
x^{2}-1+x-x^{2}=0
Subtract x^{2} from both sides.
-1+x=0
Combine x^{2} and -x^{2} to get 0.
x=1
Add 1 to both sides. Anything plus zero gives itself.
