5x-5=\left(x+2\right)\left(-10\right)
Use the distributive property to multiply x-1 by 5.
5x-5=-10x-20
Use the distributive property to multiply x+2 by -10.
5x-5+10x=-20
Add 10x to both sides.
15x-5=-20
Combine 5x and 10x to get 15x.
15x=-20+5
Add 5 to both sides.
15x=-15
Add -20 and 5 to get -15.
x=\frac{-15}{15}
Divide both sides by 15.
x=-1
Divide -15 by 15 to get -1.
