3x-3=x\times 2
Use the distributive property to multiply x-1 by 3.
3x-3-x\times 2=0
Subtract x\times 2 from both sides.
x-3=0
Combine 3x and -x\times 2 to get x.
x=3
Add 3 to both sides. Anything plus zero gives itself.
