3x-6-\left(x+2\right)\times 5=0
Use the distributive property to multiply x-2 by 3.
3x-6-\left(5x+10\right)=0
Use the distributive property to multiply x+2 by 5.
3x-6-5x-10=0
To find the opposite of 5x+10, find the opposite of each term.
-2x-6-10=0
Combine 3x and -5x to get -2x.
-2x-16=0
Subtract 10 from -6 to get -16.
-2x=16
Add 16 to both sides. Anything plus zero gives itself.
x=\frac{16}{-2}
Divide both sides by -2.
x=-8
Divide 16 by -2 to get -8.
