Swap sides so that all variable terms are on the left hand side.
2xp=y+p^{3}
Add p^{3} to both sides.
2px=y+p^{3}

\frac{2px}{2p}=\frac{y+p^{3}}{2p}
Divide both sides by 2p.
x=\frac{y+p^{3}}{2p}
Dividing by 2p undoes the multiplication by 2p.
