Swap sides so that all variable terms are on the left hand side.
2ax=y+x^{3}
Add x^{3} to both sides.
2xa=x^{3}+y
The equation is in standard form.
\frac{2xa}{2x}=\frac{x^{3}+y}{2x}
Divide both sides by 2x.
a=\frac{x^{3}+y}{2x}
Dividing by 2x undoes the multiplication by 2x.
