Consider the first equation. Swap sides so that all variable terms are on the left hand side.
-x=Y-8
Subtract 8 from both sides.

To solve a pair of equations using substitution, first solve one of the equations for one of the variables. Then substitute the result for that variable in the other equation.
-x=Y-8
Pick one of the two equations which is more simple to solve for x by isolating x on the left hand side of the equal sign.
x=8-Y
Divide both sides by -1.
4\left(8-Y\right)-3y=-3
Substitute -Y+8 for x in the other equation, 4x-3y=-3.
32-4Y-3y=-3
Multiply 4 times -Y+8.
-3y=4Y-35
Subtract -4Y+32 from both sides of the equation.
y=\frac{35-4Y}{3}
Divide both sides by -3.
x=8-Y,y=\frac{35-4Y}{3}
