2x-6-x\times 5=0
Use the distributive property to multiply x-3 by 2.
2x-x\times 5=6
Add 6 to both sides. Anything plus zero gives itself.
2x-5x=6
Multiply -1 and 5 to get -5.
-3x=6
Combine 2x and -5x to get -3x.
x=\frac{6}{-3}
Divide both sides by -3.
x=-2
Divide 6 by -3 to get -2.
