\frac{-1}{x-1}+\frac{x}{x-1}
To add or subtract expressions, expand them to make their denominators the same. Least common multiple of 1-x and x-1 is x-1. Multiply \frac{1}{1-x} times \frac{-1}{-1}.
\frac{-1+x}{x-1}
Since \frac{-1}{x-1} and \frac{x}{x-1} have the same denominator, add them by adding their numerators.
