To add or subtract expressions, expand them to make their denominators the same. Least common multiple of x and 2 is 2x. Multiply \frac{y}{x} times \frac{2}{2}. Multiply \frac{x^{2}}{2} times \frac{x}{x}.
\frac{2y+x^{2}x}{2x}
Since \frac{2y}{2x} and \frac{x^{2}x}{2x} have the same denominator, add them by adding their numerators.
