x-1-\left(x+2\right)\times 3=3
Variable x cannot be equal to any of the values -2,1 since division by zero is not defined. Multiply both sides of the equation by \left(x-1\right)\left(x+2\right), the least common multiple of x+2,x-1,x^{2}+x-2.
x-1-\left(3x+6\right)=3
Use the distributive property to multiply x+2 by 3.
x-1-3x-6=3
To find the opposite of 3x+6, find the opposite of each term.
-2x-1-6=3
Combine x and -3x to get -2x.
-2x-7=3
Subtract 6 from -1 to get -7.
-2x=3+7
Add 7 to both sides.
-2x=10
Add 3 and 7 to get 10.
x=\frac{10}{-2}
Divide both sides by -2.
x=-5
Divide 10 by -2 to get -5.
